Spring Cleaning for a Cleaner Planet

Nothing feels quite as satisfying as coming home to a clean home! With Spring finally on the way its time to restore, recycle, refresh and clean away all the winter worries.

Previously, spring cleaning involved committing a number of environmental offences. Traditional cleaners made it nearly impossible to clean with little environmental impact. From nasty chemicals and toxins to single-use wipes and non-recyclable/single use plastic bottles there were few options available for an eco-friendly clean.

However, fast-forward and the number of eco-friendly products and non-toxic liquids available will make your spring clean friendlier on your home and the planet. Here are a few of our tips to achieve an environmentally friendly spring clean;

  1. Reusing

When beginning your spring clean, instead of going out and buying wipes and paper towels why not use old clothes or towels that are too old or stained to be donated. An old toothbrush can be great for reaching those tiny spaces and an old sock can make a great glove or wipe for dusting. Get creative!

  1. Recycling

When decluttering, it’s easy to throw out old clothes, appliances and tools. Instead find your local charity bin or thrift store, or why not try and sell it at a garage sale or online! Like the old saying ,“another man’s trash is another man’s treasure” couldn’t be truer when completing your spring clean.

  1. Restoring and reselling

During your spring clean you may come across items that are in need of a bit of love and attention. Bringing your items back to life is one of the best ways to an eco-friendly clean. Additionally, restoring old items to a sellable condition can be a great way to make a few extra dollars!

  1. Eco-Friendly Products
